Homeless Care Kits
Homeless Care Kits – It gets very cold for the homeless in the Jacksonville winter evenings. In an effort to show them the love of Christ and to win the right to share the gospel with them, we give out Homeless Care Kits to our church and inner city ministry partners to give out.
One of our Partner Ministries shared with us that the Kits helped them to open the door to further share Christ among immigrants from the Middle East. Please join us in praying that the Lord will use the Kits to bring many to Christ and begin His restoration of their lives.
Homeless Care Kits: Each Kit includes a blanket, warm gloves, a scarf, socks, toothbrush, soap, and spiritual materials. These kits often serve as the first step of a spiritual journey for a desperate person.
Last winter, on a night when the temperature was below freezing one of our volunteers came across a tragic site in a vacant lot. It was a homeless “housing development”- four miserable shacks made of plywood and cardboard. The volunteer visited each dwelling and found 18 shivering people including an eleven year old girl.
Through the provision of Here’s Life Inner City, the volunteer was able to share homeless care kits and the evangelistic booklet “Jesus was Homeless Too” for each of the families. Stories like these are made possible by donations to Here’s Life Inner City and the gracious efforts of our partner ministries.
