Here’s Life Inner City is the compassionate, urban ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ. We seek to serve and mobilize the church to live out God’s heart for the poor and help fulfill the great commission. We partner with churches, ministries, businesses and a multitude of volunteers to provide hope and practical help for the poor of metropolitan Jacksonville.

There are three major elements in the proven strategy entitled Circle of Hope:  Under the leadership of our small dedicated staff, each ministry element is led by committed volunteer Board members and other selected volunteers so that 86% of each dollar invested goes directly to services.

 

COMPASSIONATE PRODUCTS

We connect with the poor of the community through meeting practical needs by providing:

  • Boxes of Love (a Thanksgiving meal for a family of six - 3,500 to be distributed in 2007)
  • Homeless Care Kits
  • Easter Bags (4,500 to be distributed next Easter)
  • Power Packs (backpacks with school supplies, Bible and shoes)
  • Provides spiritual resources for those looking for a personal faith.
  • Over the last two years, have trained 2,000 people to deliver the Compassionate Products listed above and to provide spiritual resources to those looking for a personal faith.

YOUTH DEVELOPMENT

S.A.Y. Yes! ... Centers for Youth Development are after school programs for at-risk children.

  • S.A.Y. Yes! Centers provide tutoring and homework mentoring, Christian character development curriculum and practical living skills.
  • FCAT reading scores are improving a full grade level.
  • Currently 41 S.A.Y. Yes! Centers are serving 1,900 students.

CAREER DEVELOPMENT

  • WorkNet provides 25-70 hours of career development training for hard-to-place job candidates. 
  • Holistic Hardware
    Helps move people in crisis into productive, self-sufficient lives through 10 video sessions and ongoing mentoring from volunteers. At the heart of this program is the acquisition of life skills.

 

Financial Responsibility

Here’s Life Inner City, as part of Campus Crusade, is tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code. The Campus Crusade audited financial statement includes all of the financial activity of Here’s Life along with all ministries of Campus Crusade for Christ International.

Here’s Life abides by the standards and management of donations, as defined by the nationally recognized oversight group, the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (E.C.F.A.). As part of Campus Crusade, Here's Life is a charter member of the E.C.F.A. The organization has also sought to clarify and establish additional fundraising guidelines, position statements and terms of service to help enhance the trust of friends, ministry partners and the public at large.

  • No cost to program for successful, full- time Executive Director with over 30 years of experience.
  • Less than 7% in fund raising expense
